THE BOOZELETTER 12/5

Hey there, I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! I feel like I saw almost all of you last week which was crazy busy. Lots of fun new toys this week if you want to do some early Christmas shopping or just add something fun to the cabinet! All my fellow Bears fans are rejoicing now that we flushed the Eberflus who might still be waiting to use his final timeout. Panthers playing much better with Bryce Young back from the dead. The weather has been way too cold for Ryker and for ME! Luckily I keep a good supply of Peated Scotch on hand for these circumstances. We currently have more tequila than our shelf can even hold but I am still very excited about my Patron pick "Orange Julius" go ahead and sue us, wait are they still open and do they still wear the hats?

WOODFORD SELECT "SOFT OAK AND FLAT COKE": After having done a bunch of picks with Chris and Katelyn I was excited to do another one with Master Distiller Elizabeth McCall who always comes up with the best titles like this one. We were trying to figure out how to explain how perfectly the oak worked in this Bourbon and to mention the cola flavor when suddenly Elizabeth said that she loves when the oak is soft and round like this and she thought that this cola note was specifically the kind of taste you get once the bubbles have left. I have been waiting for a long time for this one and am so excited to drink some tonight! Thank you Elizabeth! 61.99

PATRON SINGLE BARREL "ORANGE JULIUS": Okay now this is my second time travel pick that takes me back to Junior High in Irving, Texas. The first was the delicious Karmel Korn and now we have Orange Julius which filled the corridor of the mall of my youth with big citrus notes. This beautiful tequila is a juicy citrus bomb that can enjoyed neat or will make the most amazing margarita. That's right folks, I am not afraid to make world class margaritas with top shelf tequila. Once you have tried it you will know why. Never use ingredients that you would not want to drink. You don't always have to reach up but it sure is fun. At this price this awesome store pick is a steal and belongs on every tequila lovers shelf. 60.99

HOLMES AND CAY RUMS: I had the opportunity to try a single barrel pick from Bartender Baker and it blew me away. After that I was on the hunt when I got a phone call from a Rum club and they put me in contact with the right people and now here we are. I had a pour of the Heritage bottle last night and it is excellent. It can make all of the rum cocktails but can certainly be had on its own. Happy to have these four expressions, please enjoy and thanks again Baker! 39.99-98.99

ARRAN AMARONE CASK: Welcome back old friend! Arran used to do quite a few fun wine finishes and this was one of my favorite. Amarone is a smart but unusual choice for a wine finish. It is an Italian wine with plenty of fruit and sweetness. But the folks at Arran release this at a Hundred Proof which cuts the sweetness. 88.99

GLEN SCOTIA 18: It has been great having "the other Campbell town" distillery back on the shelf and I was very excited to see this favorite come rolling in. It has become quite a challenge to find well aged Scotch and with the threat of further tariffs looming, now is a great time to scoop some up. 175.99

BRUICHLADDICH 18: I honestly thought that they had skipped South Carolina on this one, but here it is! I got to try this beautiful peated whisky when a customer was kind enough to bring me a sample. People really spoil me here, I have tried some of the most amazing bottles from your kind and thoughtful samples!

SATURDAY 2:00-5:00 ST. GEORGE WITH SAM!

WINTER COCKTAIL EDITION!

Thank you to everyone that came out to see the beautiful and talented Sam pouring some St. George classics well now she is back with some winter cocktails that will liven up your Christmas Party!

SPICED PEAR MANHATTAN: Tired of the same old Manhattans? Throw some St. George Spiced Pear in there. I like to use Irish whiskey for this and you can even do it without the vermouth for a great two ingredient drink!

GREEN RUSSIAN: This fantastic drink was the brain child of John Macqueen one cold winter evening and I have been drinking it ever since. Instead of boring old vodka we use the St. George Green Chile, and instead of boring old Kahlua we use the St. George Coffee liqueur.

Come and say hello to Sam and try these two fun Winter Cocktails!

WOODFORD "OAK AND DECADENCE": This pick is almost sold out, and my bottle is almost empty! 61.99

HOGSHEAD BLEND: So glad to have this little peated Gem back on the shelf and I have been using it to make my Smoky Black Manhattans. Just swap out your bourbon for this Scotch change out your vermouth and welcome to a Winter wonderland! 52.99

ARETTE SINGLE BARRELS: So glad to have these in the store and on my shelf at home! After our last two picks were stolen by the cartel I am very grateful to have them here!! The Reposado "Lemon Drop" is so good on its own but makes a fantastic Margarita! The Anejo "Just delicious" is one of the best tequilas in this whole store and what a great gift it would make for the tequila drinker who thinks they have everything. Until these landed I had never even seen an Arette store pick! So you can only find these gems here and when they are gone they are gone so enjoy. 78.99 and 114.99

THE EPILOGUE: ENJOY THIS LIFE!

I was laying in my bed on Sunday deciding whether or not to face the cold and make the trip to my favorite bakery Vicente when I remembered my own sage advice to "ENJOY THIS LIFE!". So I got up but on my Old Forester Sweatshirt and my Knob Creek jacket, took Ryker for a quick walk and headed off to favorite treat. I always order a breakfast sandwich and then pick out some croissants both sweet and savory. They always have a few new items and it is pretty easy to talk me into them. This week it was EGG NOG cheesecake! Which was as wonderful as it sounds. I paired it with delicious Wathen's "Sam's Select" and it made for a great nightcap. Yes it takes me an hour round trip but it is always worth it. What would I do with that hour that would be time better served?

There are many hard days in this life and what I have found to be a great tonic is to take a pause and do something that brings you joy. Don't worry the laundry will still be dirty when you are finished. You can worry about all of the things your brain makes you worry about while you do something that makes you smile. In fact, once you are done actually enjoyng yourself for once you might see a problem in a new light. I often come up with solutions while i am walking Ryker dog which is something I love doing. Last night playing with my new Holmes and Cay rum

Cheers

Keith
